Welcome to Islington Labour's website and thank you for taking the time to visit our site.  Islington Labour is on your side.

Residents regularly tell us that the Lib Dem council has become greedy, arrogant and out-of-touch.

• The Lib Dems pay themselves the highest salaries in the country. 
• On housing, the Lib Dems have proved that they are on the side of private property developers rather than local residents, leaving 13,000 residents on the housing waiting list.    
• The Lib Dems have put up charges on vital services like childcare, meals-on-wheels and cemeteries. 
• Known for their hefty parking fines, the vast sums the Lib Dems make from parking charges continues to rise despite the introduction of their "common sense" parking policy.       

Yet Islington is the 6th more deprived area in the country.  The division between Islington's haves and have-nots is stark.  What's more it's Islington's most vulnerable residents who are more likely to suffer from the borough's high levels of crime, shortage of affordable housing and to be affected by poor health. 

Despite this, the Lib Dems only want to manage the Council.  In contrast, the Labour Group are determined to tackle it - we want to see real change in Islington. 

We want every local resident to be able to access excellent services.  But we want more than that.  We want this council to become a vehicle for change.  We want this council to be on your side.
