Islington Labour Group Borough Organiser - Person Specification / Advert
 
Islington Constituency Labour Parties are looking to recruit a Borough Organiser to help us with our ongoing campaign work.
 
This position represents an excellent opportunity to gain experience in working on a successful campaign with a local labour party recognised as being a leader in campaign best practise.
 
The successful candidates will be based at the Islington Labour Party Offices in Highbury and Barnsbury, both with excellent transport links.
 
The successful candidate will have:
·        Experience of campaigning with the Labour Party or another organisation,
·        Experience of organising events and motivating groups of volunteers and workers,
·        Excellent written and communication skills,
·        Excellent IT skills -desirable: knowledge of Labour Contact Creator and Microsoft Publisher
·        The ability to work to deadlines and in a pressured environment
·        The ability to organise own workload
·        An understanding and commitment to Labour Party values
 
The position is fulltime and will require a great deal of flexible working, including some weekend work
 
The salary will be £20,000 per annum.
