Islington Labour Party is looking to recruit a Borough Organiser to help us with our ongoing campaign work and build on Islington Labour’s successes in recent years.
This position represents an excellent opportunity to gain experience in working on successful campaigns in a borough recognised as being a leader in campaign best practice.
The post holder will be responsible for building and maintaining party organisation and campaign activity; delivering community-led campaigns; working with stakeholders to establish and implement an effective election campaign strategy for the 2021 Mayoral and GLA Elections, the 2022 Local Elections and any other elections called during the period of employment.
The post holder will work with Islington Labour Group and Islington South and Finsbury CLP, and liaise with the local MPs, Councillors, CLP and Branch officers, London Regional team and other units within the party.
The successful candidate will have:
- Significant experience of being involved in election campaigns
- Experience of developing successful local campaigns
- Experience of organising events and motivating large groups of volunteers
- Experience of using labour party technology
- Experience of managing and developing volunteers
- Experience of working on own initiative
- Experience of fundraising

The starting salary will be £33,521.54 inclusive of London weighting, and subject to annual increments in line with Labour Party pay scales.
This is a fixed term contract until 31st August 2022.
