The St Mary’s and St James’ Councillors are writing to provide you with an update about your area and the work they have been doing:

Together, as a hardworking team of three, we have been working on and achieved the following as part of a Labour administration in Islington:

• Worked to make Popham Community Centre the hub of our community through a series of community event such as an Iftar in April, multiple fundays and various public meetings with local residents
• Regularly met with local Tenants and Residents Associations and fed back concerns about housing and other issues to the Council, improving where you live and representing you in the Town Hall
• Improved the local neighbourhood through new planting and bins on Dibden Street
• We have spent a significant amount of time supporting local community groups such as Islington Sea Cadets and Islington Veterans Association
• Done our part to make the area greener and healthier through a new pocket park and additional trees across the ward, all as part of Islington Labour’s manifesto commitments to play a role in fighting the climate emergency
