Councillor Angelo Weekes
Councillor, Mildmay Ward | Executive Member for Community Safety
Angelo was born in the borough, raised on Kerridge Court and attended St Jude and St Paul’s School, both in Mildmay ward. A keen local campaigner, Angelo works in the Higher Education sector and is passionate about improving the lives of people in Mildmay with a cleaner, greener, healthier borough and making Islington a safer place. Angelo believes that good education is fundamental to giving children an excellent start in life and is a vehicle for positive change and for that reason he opted to become a school governor in 2009. He is currently a governor at a primary school and a Chair of the board of governors at a secondary school, both in Islington. He also represents the Council on the Local Government Association - LGA General Assembly, the Richard Reeves Foundation and the Safer Neighbourhood Board.
Angelo is the Executive Member for Community Safety.
