The Laycock Councillors are writing to provide you with an update about your area and the work they have been doing:

Together, as a hardworking team of three, we have been working on and achieved the following as part of a Labour administration in Islington:

  • New crossings on Canonbury Road and Cottage Road to make crossing the road safer for all residents as part of Islington Labour’s efforts to make walking and cycling more friendly across the borough
  • Investment in a new Martin Luther King adventure playground, as the borough strives to create play spaces that are enjoyable but more importantly, are safe for our children to play in.
  • Asking the community for their views on repurposing of the old basketball court on Caledonian Estate and ensuring action is taken on anti-social behaviour, litter and dog fouling across the estate
  • 60 new homes have been built at Dixon Clark Court and we have continued to campaign for the former Ministry of Justice flats to become usable homes, as part of Islington Council’s efforts to tackle the housing crisis and reducing accommodation costs for residents
  • Delivered on promises to make our community safer and more accessible by delivering new and improved lighting at Haslam Court estate
