Ruth was elected as one of the Councillors for Clerkenwell in May 2022. She has lived in Islington for 30 years, and worked in the borough for almost 20 years. She has a background in the voluntary sector, and is a trustee and volunteer with several local charities. She is Chair of the Labour Party National Women’s Committee and is a campaigner for equality and social justice. She is also an active Trade Unionist, within Unite the Union, and the Islington Trades Council. She is also on Planning and Environment and Regeneration Scrutiny Committees.
